Oblivion

A warrior in helmet

The subject matter of this article is basically to DIFFUSE a pure perception of what makes a unique idea, the cost of actualization and the need to buckle up. Particularly, those whose stripes fall among the trains of Inventors, writers, pioneers, innovators, business tycoons or a venture that is competitively susceptible.

The Athletes Mindset

What do you say of athletes prior to precipitating a race? Instinctively, the nature of thoughts binds to engross each mind will be their ambition to take the lead. This is typically a conscious contest.

Your life goals might not seem competitive when there are no physical opponents, someone to engage you competitively or yet to have a glimpse of a congruent prototype. Assumably, they are possibilities you conclude on being the only racer, but in the true sense, you are not, simply because you are practically not aware of the potential someone somewhere has to materialize a similar pursuit of yours. Our world is a competitive field, by virtue of which conflict is precipitated. Men who live in the consciousness of this virtual competition and time rarely give their bare hands to the stake.

A Vivid Model

Let's take a look from another perspective, considering two or more different people, who are by no means related. They've neither met before nor in any circumstance. Be it as it may, as fate will have it, these individuals who are oblivious of one another are working on the same idea at different spaces at a given time, but one of them however who got his timing, pursuit or invention envisaged on time get his idea conceived to the spotlight before the other, thereby becoming the pioneer of a newly invented idea. You can tell how others having the same idea would feel. Disillusioned, I guess. The reason why the phrase, "you stole my idea" is a common verbalization in the sphere of Inventors, philosophers and innovators."

This very phenomenon has thrived in recent years. Then, you see someone rose to accuse the other person of stealing his ideas or claiming to have a part in the work - but betrayed. Statements like, "Mr sharp stole my ideas bla bla bla." Oops! It hurts, though, considering the feelings such setbacks incurred. Should we talk of a project on which a person had long time harnessed all of his energy and strength or probably almost getting to the peak of accomplishment before someone from nowhere suddenly took the spotlight and the eminence?

Alternatively and consequentially, for every renowned billionaire making waves in their area of specialization, It is no doubt assuming there weren't people in their stripes who are somehow impregnated with a similar template of their pursuits, but unfortunately arrived against the peak of time.

You Are Not In The Race Alone

Apart from this class of virtual competitors. There is an event similar to this experience, which beyond every reasonable doubt, a huge percentage of us are familiar with almost every passing day of our lives - either at the workplace, school or in some events. Can you remember when your boss at work shared a common task between two teams; one of which you belong to with a deadline incorporated and failure to accomplish the task before the set time could incur a great loss on your team? Moreover, it could be a loss of promotion, benefits, elevation and pretty much the loss of grace. Indeed, a fortune you wouldn't like to miss. It is not a problem of not being able to meet up with a task, but rather a lack of consciousness that is void of the perception that other people may be brighter than you are. Anyway, you are aware of this one. Suffice me to buttress a clearer deliberation of this topic as we dive in further, employing the conflicts among these tech players below as an example.

The Tech Players

Mark Zuckerberg - versus - Cameron and Tyler Winkle Voss (the twin brothers) and Divya Narendra Conflict who accused Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook of stealing their source code).

Bill Gates - versus - Steve Jobs Conflict in the early '80s, who accused Bill Gates the co-founder of Microsoft of stealing the idea from the Xerox lab, a lab they both admired and carried out their research.

I knew of a young writer who published an anecdote a few years ago. An intellectual work of his conceptualized based on his personal experience without having come across a title of the same kind. But unfortunately, he was told by the publication board that his work was a duplicate of someone's work. Without mincing words, he was deflated.

Can You Beat The Race?

What transpires when conflicting issues like this arise? Are there observable traits that could have contributed to the one who takes the lead before the other? Definitely yes! To have come out of the shell before an obscure competitor.

Time, experience, determination, information and consistency; all merged, are working tools that pace scale us ahead of the other. Here are the key points.

Going by the time count, If you must exceed your contemporaries you can't afford to spend the same amount of time with 'them', you have to work the extra time to beat 'them', lest you are beaten. This is a truism the majority are  oblivious of. But those who lived in the consciousness of it understood better. The time factor makes the difference. A factual reason why you can't afford to be slack in your endeavours, be it what may; if it is something worth giving the time.

Whhether or not this phenomenon is surreal to you, people at different spaces and times nurture similar goals. However, what takes one person a long period to conceive, might take another a short time. It all depends on the individual's intake and perception. By and large, the pursuit of our ideas is an oblivious race that engages us collectively, irrespective of space, time, intelligence and distance. And until your preconceived idea is conceived, it is yet not unique. But the arch-truth is this, your dream is halfway accomplished if the key points delineated above are made applicable.

Do well to share my dear friend. You may help trigger someone's ambition. Who knows?
